Do you have any ideas on how to organize/store catalogues?

Asked by DarlingRhadamanthus (11273points) September 21st, 2009

I am inundated with gift and clothing catalogues. Because I don’t live in a city, I do a lot of catalogue shopping and enjoy it more than online shopping. But, I have so many catalogues and I want to keep them organized and neat and most of all, handy to browse through. I tried putting them in a storage container and you still had to dig through to find the one you needed. Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep and organize catalogues? Thanks so much!

You could put them in magazine files, using a different one for each category (clothing, homegoods, gifts, etc.)

Edited to add: Or alphabetically.

Choose a number of the most important ones, like 10 or 20, to keep out and easily available to browse through. Maybe keep those on a magazine rack in the bathroom or something. Then use two small storage boxes for the rest. One box for the ones most likely you’ll need, and the other box for the rest. Keep post-it notes near the catalogs to create bookmarks where you need them. You can label the bookmarks, but you really don’t need to.

Throw them in the recycle bin after a year, or put them in a deeper long term storage.
