Hey there, welcome to Fluther!

Firstly, it would be nice to know more details about your trip. Are you going alone/with family? How long do you plan to be in Palau? Also, since Palau is one of the island paradises of the world (if you’re an island chain the Pacific Ocean, you’re an island paradise), do you/the people you’re going with know how to scuba dive?

Also, though this is not strictly necessary, it would be nice to know how much you already know about Palau.

That’s the thing about Fluther. We thrive on detail. If you give us a personal story behind your questions and fill it with personal details, that will enable us to tailor our answers so that they’ll fit your situation the best.

Hope this gives you an idea of how things work here.

Disclaimer: I know very little about Palau, but someone else here might know more than me, and if you manage to show that you’re more than just a few lines of text, that’ll be very attractive to us

Micronesia is a long way to go unless you are a diver. If you are a diver, you can dive Truk Lagoon and see the wrecks of a lot of the 41 ships and 200 aircraft that were sunk in the battle in 1944.

The diving in Palau is drift wall diving. It requires some skill as the current is pretty strong, and it is counterintuitive to let go. Not for the novice.

If one doesn’t dive, I am not sure why you would go. There is kayaking in the Rock Islands and snorkeling (boat trips or from the beach), but really not a lot. It is beautiful in terms of the tropical paradise aspect.
