Why is Super Mario Bros 3 better than Super Mario World?
I personally prefer SMW. Don’t get me wrong, I love SMB3, but I really can’t see reasons why it’s the better game. Could somebody help me understand this? Thanks!

Super Mario Bros > Mario anything, IMO.
‘cos Super Mario Bros 3 is one of the Original Ganstas Games, yo. Much more respek to the originals.
I found it a bigger challenge. Most of the time I was able to just breeze through Super Mario World. and now I need to go find a rom and replay SMB3
Super Mario World is to this day my favorite videogame of all time, so I can’t really answer your question, but I agree with you.
Super Mario Bros. 2 was such a horrible game that even if Super Mario Bros. 3 was a bad game (which it wasn’t), it would seem like a good game by comparison. So going from super mario bros. 3 to super mario world was like going from good game to better game, whereas Super Mario 2 to Super Mario 3 was going from crap game to good game. Also you need to consider you’re comparing Super Mario Bros. 3 on NES to Super Mario World on SNES
WHO TOLD YOU THAT!?!?
I WANT A NAME!!!!
They all pale in comparison to Super Mario 64.
Tanooki Mario > Cape Mario
“WHO TOLD YOU THAT!?!? I WANT A NAME!!!!”
ScrewAttack.com does. They say “It’s not just us—EVERYBODY loves SMB3.”

And I’ve heard it all over the ‘net.
I only have one question for those who think Super Mario Bros. 3 was better than Super Mario World:
Did you find and beat all 96 levels?
If the answer is no, than you haven’t really played Super Mario World.
I never played SMW, but back in the day SMB3 was my favorite stand-up…I could get 45 minutes of game play off one quarter! Yeehaw.
@Grisaille knows what I’m talking about. Tubular was the hardest level in the entire game.
It isn’t, really, but it was an instant classic for the NES and solidified Mario as a fixture of the video game world. It presented many levels and took the Mario franchise to a whole new level. Mario could FLY! He could have different suits! You could skip levels, and use the flutes to play your favorite worlds without much effort. As I see it, Mario World was just a solid sequel, which improved on the advances of Mario 3 and used the new technology well, but it wasn’t as ground breaking or important to the future of gaming as SMB3 was.
