How could I word this 2x2 within-subjects design hypothesis?

Asked by Ame_Evil (3051points) November 23rd, 2009

I am having trouble wording this as I feel it is quite messy.

My two independent variables are: set size (2 levels: 2 and 6) and flanker effect (2 levels: compatible and incompatible). The dependent variable is the reaction time (in ms).

As set size increases so should reaction time. Also in the incompatible condition the reaction time should be higher than in the compatible.

However there should be an interaction between set size and compatibility. As set size increases the flanker effect should decrease.

I am thinking of separating this hypothesis into 3 bits but it seems messy.

What are your opinions? Also has anyone had any experience in 2×2 designs and writing clear hypothesis about them or can find a lab report which include something like this.

Thankees.

Meh crappy post. Can a mod delete this as I’ll just work harder on it myself.
