Who sang a version of "Leaving On a Jet Plane" by John Denver?

Asked by owenburnett (183points) January 11th, 2010

This is kind of hard to describe, but i’m trying to find out who sang a version of “Leaving On a Jet Plane.” The info on the song says it was sung by Justin Timberlake, but it doesn’t sound anything like him at all. This version starts off with someone speaking over the p.a. system in an airport in hawaii: “This is the final boarding call for Hawaiian Airlines, flight 705, with nonstop service to Los Angeles. All confirmed passengers should be onboard at this time. Mahalo.” This version of the song has a modern pop beat to it. Any clue on who sang this version?

My mom used to sing it to me and my sister all the time :D
I would be surprised if Justin Timberlake had even heard of the song.

The song was sung by a black lady called Denise Williams. I know it because we had a single at home and I loved it. She had short kinky hair and not made up. Very beautiful song – greater than the original version. Surprise that no trace of her anywhere on the net.
