Self explanatory really.Would only add that did you feel the role was cast perfectly or believe another actor would have done better?

I just saw Meryl Streep as Julia Child in Julie & Julia, and she was marvelous. Stanley Tucci was also very good as Paul Child.

I thought Jim Carrey did a really good job playing Andy Kaufman in Man on the Moon.

Some of my favorite historical movies/biopics are Schindler’s List. The Killing Fields, Cry Freedom, and Ghandi. They not only got most of the physical appearances right, they got talented actors who disappeared into their parts.

@knitfroggy If ever there was a guy born to play that role then Carrey was surely that guy.

I used to think Andy Kauffman was hilarious but after MITM it felt like I had been laughing at somebody’s disability

Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore were amazing in the 2009 adaptation of Grey Gardens. If you’ve seen the 1976 documentary film about the Beales, you’ll be blown away by how spot-on their performances are.

@Harp I agree. I am a big fan of the documentary and was so pleased to see how well the movie turned out! Drew Barrymore was Little Edie!

Val Kilmer was awesome and believable as Jim Morrison. I hear he did his own singing too. It was a fantastic performance.

Robert Downey, Jr in Chaplin. If he can impress Chaplin’s daughter (also in the movie), something’s got to be said. Upon arriving at the Chaplin mock up studio, she saw Robert walking towards her and thought she had gone back in time. Would have gotten the Oscar if not for Scent of a Woman.

I liked Lou Diamond Phillips as Richie Valens in La Bamba. Morgan Freeman was also good as Nelson Mandella in Invictus.

Marion Cotillard as Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose was mesmerizing…truly.

Johnny Depp was brilliant as Ed Wood, and Martin Landau’s performance as Bela Lugosi was even better.

Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash in Walk the Line. And for that matter, Reese Witherspoon as June Carter-Cash.
