What website offers the best free online games?

Asked by DrasticDreamer (23996points) March 4th, 2010

I had a particularly grueling day – first with helping someone move, and then with school. I feel like zoning out in front of the computer, playing some good, free games.

Want to share a website?

Edit: Screw it, I’m exhausted, so I’m going to bed. It would be awesome if when I wake up there are bunches of links for me, though. :)

Hmm, this Dungeons and Dragons MMO recently became free after being a subscription only service. It is very good and only requires payment to purchase extras in the game.

I like Kongregate. It puts all the best games from different sites onto their site. You can also unlock achievements and level up.

This is the best game ever (free download required, malware-free) (It’s called Crossfire)
It is a shoot ‘em up game. You are assigned to a Blackwater-type mercenary corporation (a team) to fight an opposing team. There are different modes of gameplay including standard shootout, a capture-the-flag type game, a ghost mode, and more. The graphics are incredible… top notch… as good as paid games are. Scenarios include a Factory, a Ski Resort, a Mine, a Laboratory, a cavernous hidden world, a cargo ship, a train, and more. I love it so much!

It’s a shoot ‘em up game, though, so if that’s not your thing, here’s another great free game: (This one’s called Tradewinds).

In this game you play a world-traveling trader who is out to make a profit through the buying and selling of exotic goods. You must schedule your trips, carefully purchase your goods, and keep earning more money for more exotic business trips.

Both games got me temporarily very addicted

Now that I’ve told you my 2 favorites: Here is a motherlode of game sites for you. These are all really good games sites that I’ve found individually, and saved in my Favorites. In this list, you’ll find sites of free online games and individual free online games. The genres include Action, Boardgame, RPG, Shooter, Adventure, Sim, Time Management, Arcade, and Retro Console
