Windows Defender won't run on startup?

Asked by RareDenver (13173points) March 6th, 2010

All of a sudden Windows Defender won’t run on startup, I’m having to manually open the program each time I turn my PC on, I’m running Windows XP.

It looks like it should run on startup

Any suggestions?

Defender has been replaced with Microsoft Security Essentials. I would install the new program.

I’d recommend a third party scanner/firewall like PCTools I found any built in program by microsoft to be less then stellar
