Who are the fashion designer/s who got the models' mouths duct taped, & the one who got them in dog muzzles .. Please see detail?

Asked by flo (13313points) April 1st, 2010

A dog muzzle or something that looks like it? What do you think the meaning of that is anyway – that women should just shut up? There is also the clowning them up, having them in high heels on the that are so unwearable they take them off in the runway before they fall and break something.I don’t know who the designer is or are, but the models might as well be owned. Why are people so blind to the abusiveness of it?

… I’m glad I haven’t

Models are not human beings – they’re supposed to be blank canvasses/materials for the designer to play with – like living dolls – therefore it doesn’t matter what you do to them, they’re not considered normal women.

@Simone_De_Beauvoir But that raises a question: why not display their clothes on actual mannequins? Why would they rather treat actual women as if they weren’t humans with their own will and autonomy?

I edited the question by the way just a little. I added that people are blind to the abusiveness of it, and asking who those designers are.

@dpworkin because they can walk and show the garment.

@dpworkin All the designers have to do is stop dehumanizing people, and the models not be willing to be dehumanized, and the rest of the popuation ask questions “why is that duct tape accross the mouth”, “why a muzzle?, and “not buy stuff from those designers, until they become decent, nothing more than that.

@flo sounds simple but it ain’t gonna happen

My son is a professional photographer, a very nice guy, a pleasant companion, thoughtful, humanitarian, and very contemptuous of models. He is not very nice to them. I find it to be disturbing behavior on his part. Maybe it’s an attitude that one gets exposed to in that business.

@Simone_De_Beauvoir If everything started with “it is not gonna happen”, ...

@dpworkin Must be because they’re so replaceable and because they don’t really want to care about their feelings….
@flo I never start anything with it, I only stop things with that but I’m with you on this issue.
