What does the 2012 ridiculousness have to do with recent earthquakes that actually occurred? Am I missing something?

Just relax and ignore it. The world is overloaded with absolute bullshit, not just on the topic of the “end times”. You will drive yourself crazy trying to object.

if 2012 is the end of the world as the Mayans apparently predict then I hope it is at the end of 2012…I’d hate to think we had spent billions on the olympics in London only to snuff it before the event

Really, you have nothing to worry about as far as earthquakes and the end of the Mayan calendar. Everyone knows that “climate change” is what’s going to do us in… or debt… or Obama… or the Republicans.

@Lightning OMIGAWD, do you think that this recent earthquake is signaling the end and the return of Jesus? Thanks for the warning…

If you don’t acknowledge freedom of speech for people that make you want to strangle them whenever they open their stupid pie holes, you don’t acknowledge freedom of speech at all.

We’ll have to wait until they shut up of their own volition. In the meantime you can try to confront them with arguments, maybe some of them will listen.

I’ve learned to ignore doomsayers. Just nod, smile and walk away slowly.

Hah! Well…I just found out last year that my little country oasis is an evacuation site in case of terrorist attack in the city.

Great….I’ll be under seige from the fleeing city folk that need to get to higher ground. lolol

Good thing I have attack geese. haha

its a conspiracy I tell ya!! HAARP induced the earthquakes!! lol…don’t ya just love all the theories that float around when natural dispasters occur.

and btw, no I don’t think its HAARP induced heh.

@lightening, you have got to get your act together, there are many things happening every day around the world, and sadly socal had an earthquake yet, a very big one, but your question adn your info have nothing to do with eachtother, talking about 2012, and all of that is completley different then saying how to shut up people from recent earquakes, because until you are in one, you have no idea what a horrible feeling it is. and if your so closed minded about things, then you yourself, walk alway from the news, if you dont want to hear about anything from anything, then do it, but dont say stupid shit.

by not writing these kinds of questions on fluther!

@nimarka1 Dream on honey.

@niks1112—I have had it with people connecting earthquakes to the “THE END”. The speculation spam is on overload! Poeple can talk about earthquakes all they want…it is just HORRIBLE WHEN THEY START ON THE END TIIME PATH, 2012 OR SOME OTHER ROUTE.

Yes I am yelling.

davidbetterman's avatar

Perhaps this is not so much a signal of the end as it is a signal that depleting the earth of all her oil is a huge mistake, since the oil is necessary to smooth earth movement…

@Lightning Try hitting your “ignore” button. One cannot stop the tide, and one cannot force others to ones own point of view. Witness the fact that they cannot make you agree with them.

Captain_Fantasy's avatar

Is ignoring them is too much of a passive approach?

MrsDufresne's avatar

I know, that can be really annoying. When someone says that to me, I just say
“I’ll be ready with my lawn chair and a big bag o popcorn.”

slick44's avatar

No one is forcing you to answer their questions.Or read them for that matter.

thriftymaid's avatar

You choose what you read. Quite simple really. Get a grip.

wundayatta's avatar

You can’t get people to shut up. What you can control is your reaction to yahoos. Ignore it. Or just let it slide right on by.
