What do you normally eat?

This is pure conjecture, but your body, in an effort to fight off the bug, might be looking for vitamins and minerals to shore up the immune response.

Dogs eat grass to help them throw up when they’re feeling crummy…...

Perhaps your body is in need of a cleansing, and vegetables offer that. I personally have never experienced that, but when I have a cold I sometimes have a desire to drink something hot and salty, like beef consomme or chicken soup. Maybe our bodies naturally crave for things that help cleanse or rid ourselves of toxins, bacteria, or viruses.

I notice that I have cravings like that to. The other night it was lima beans. I ate mine and the leftovers. I think that cravings like that indicate that your body is low on certain vitamins and minerals. Besides it’s better than craving a beer or cigarettes.

Do you think that your illness could be caused by some sort of deficiency?

The body craves nutrients that it is deficient in. Your illnesses may be caused or exacerbated by vitamin deficiencies.
