I like it but what do I know!. The article say Sudan is one of the poorest places on earth. Maybe this would be the incentive they need after years of insensitive government.

@AmWiser: Sure, it’s cute. But don’t you think that if they can raise that much money to build a rhino city, they should try to raise that much money to instead put up some damned schools and hospitals first?

This is probably the idea or experiment of some private investor who is making Sudan sell the idea to the public. I don’t think it’s as organic a project as we’re being led to believe.

It sounds so implausible and they are so poor, I suspect a few million dollars will be raised and some Madoff will steal the money and that will be the end of the story.

I guess my idea of shaping their big city like a big phallus, just didn’t go over. Well… back to the old drawing board hehe.

@poofandmook Interesting concept, and certainly different, to say the least.Maybe they’re looking at the tourism angle for when oil doesn’t produce the revenue they expect. Just a thought. Many countries rely on good old fashioned tourism to stay afloat, so it’s not too much of a stretch.
