What was the woman holding in her hand in the "1928 time traveler" video?

Asked by YoKoolAid (2424points) October 29th, 2010

I had trouble finding the original video, here’s the yahoo search results: http://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?p=1928+time+traveler
and if you want a good laugh here’s a fox news analysis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAhavO89LqQ

I feel like there’s a very small percentage of people who actually believe this is evidence of time travel, but I wonder what the woman is actually doing. Her mouth is moving, so I think she’s talking into a potato or something.

I saw that video too. Maybe she is holding her pet rat to her ear and talking to it?

She’s just scratching her cheek and cursing fleas or something like that!!! Who would she talk to in a time before Satellites or cell sites?

She is trying to hold her hand up and hide her face unobtrusively. Or she is a time traveller.

The sun was in her eyes, She is holding her hand to her face. Also, she is holding gloves in that hand as well.

A sea shell. She is using the sound of the ocean to find her way to the beach.

She’s obviously pretending to be talking on a mobile phone. This invention was quickly assumed to be part of the future after the actual invention of the telephone.

A time traveler without a bluetooth?

I think it was a Blackberry. Sorry Iphone users.

She’s holding gloves to “her” face to hide beard stubble. It’s a fella in a dress playing a woman as an extra.

2,000,000 + hits because some bald guy you don’t even know told you there is no other possible explanation. jesus wept.

@ChazMaz I think you nailed it. It isn’t even clear to me she’s talking. We just fill in the visual blanks when we see it because walking along with a cell phone in hand is such a familiar thing to us now.

She is an opera singer. she is on her way for opening night of White Christmas and practicing her Fa La La La La, La La La La.

You know, the song Deck The Halls.

Disc Jockeys and radio announcers hold their hand up to their ear in order to hear their voce.
