What song goes woooooooooooh life goes on?

Asked by EstoProud (18points) February 17th, 2011

The song, I believe, is a pretty old song. But I can’t find it anywhere. It is a MALE singing it. It goes WOOOOOO OOOOOH LIFE GOES ON, something something (don’t know this verse), When I’m singing this song. I’m not sure if the last part is correct. It is NOT the beatles! Please help me. This has been driving me crazy!

I think you mean Jack and Diane by John Mellencamp.

Just a little ditty. That was when he was John “Cougar” Mellencamp.

Could be a Beatles song called Life Goes On. Omb Blah Dee, Omb Blah Doe, Oooohhhh, Life Goes On…. Something about a marketplace.

Ob La Di, Ob La Da – written by Paul McCartney, after he discovered dub and reggae. It’s a Beatles song.

Life goes on, brah.

I would suspect the OP already listen and denied the song, considering in the details, they said, “It is NOT the beatles!”

incidentally Offspring took the tune to Life Goes On and turned into “Why don’t you get a job”

That is “obla-dee, obla-di, life goes oooooon, la-la-la-la life goes on.” A Beatles song.

I will join the chorus of those who think that @kenmc is right; that the song you are looking for is Jack and Diane by John Cougar Mellencamp. There isn’t really a “woooooooooooh” part but there is a little instrumental bit and an “oh yeah” before the “life goes on” part of the chorus.

I don’t think Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is the one you want.

I love the song but anymore it really only pops into my head on my really bad days, on the days that are bad enough that find myself singing, in my head, “Oh yeah. Life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone… ’’ but as soon as I snap out of that crap I don’t think of the song again for a good, long time.

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da has a little more cheerier an outlook on the lives of us ordinary folk.
