hmm, I dunno….really depends on what type of situation we’re talking about.

It’s how I live my life. (I think.)

I learned a long time ago not to pick the easy way out. Something I struggle to remember when it comes to myself! (at times!)

The right way can be the more difficult, less popular way; however, you can look at yourself in the mirror a lot easier than when you pick the easy way out of things.

Like @gailcalled, a little more detail, an example, would be helpful.

It is a way of life for me so I could not tell you. I do not see any other option.

I always do the right thing no matter how hard it is. I’ve had family members not talk to to me for years because I just couldn’t let matters go on the way they were. That really hurt but it hurt less than letting abuse continue.

Feb 26. I had to accept an award for someone who was unable to attend due to the weather. I hate having my picture taken or being the center of attention.

But the award was important to a now departed friend of mine.

I met a much younger man in a class we were both taking. To my surprise, I had a strong physical reaction to him. It was totally inappropriate since I was old enough to be his mother. Partly as a result of my suggesting it, he joined another group I belong to. I stayed away from him for a year, except for an occasional word now and then. Then let myself be friendly, but that’s all. The attraction is still there for me, but I ignore it. I don’t think he has the slightest idea. Best he doesn’t.
When I look at this answer I realize I really had no choice. I needed to get over it.
