Do you make sure you give your s/o a kiss when you split for the day?

Asked by Adirondackwannabe (36713points) April 6th, 2011

Just a thought. You never know what’s going on in the world. But do you always give your s/o a pleasant goodbye when you go about your days work? Why, or why not.

My husband makes it a priority to give me and all the kids a kiss on the forehead before he heads out for the day. I think it’s sweet.

Most of the time, yes. I don’t really know why, we just do it. We also do kisses goodnight; I usually go to bed before he does, so I give him a kiss then, and he kisses my cheek or arm or whatever he can get at when he comes to bed :)

Absolutely yes. We kiss all the time but definitely before we go to work and when we get home. Why? I love him, he loves me. We are touchy feely people.

I don’t have a sexy ostrich but if I did,I doubt I’d make out with it.

Nope. We’re not very touch-y people, though. I do make sure that the last thing I say to him before either of us goes anywhere (separately) is “love you.” If anything happens I want that to be the last thing said—not something lame like “Get more dog poo bags on your way home.”

Yep, and another one every time I see her again.

We also have a tradition of saying “I love you” before parting. I would hate to think that my last words to my wife were something mundane like “don’t forget to pick up a gallon of milk on the way home”.

OTOH, if we should be fortunate enough to die together our last words to one another are more likely to be something like “CRAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

FWIW, we really aren’t the touchy feely types.

Yes, there is always a kiss good-bye in the morning and a kiss goodnight. I had to train him into this, however. His parents are not touchy-kissy-huggy people so it was a bit of an adjustment for him. I still haven’t gotten him into a hello kiss when one of us gets home.

As for why – I think it’s important that when you part whether physically or due to sleep to know that you are loved.

My parents always did this, they always reasoned that they might not know if it’s the last chance so to never leave things undone or unsaid.

That’s why I kiss my S/O like I’ll never see her again, and again when I do because I’m so glad that it wasn’t the last.

Yes, I do, because as you said, you never know what will happen. We also say “I love you.” Now if I could just get my SO to get on that same train of thought…

Of course, I do.

We kiss, squeeze each other’s hands, and say “I love you”. Before parting for the day or before going to sleep at night. Always.

We do and he usually calls me before I get on the road to come home from work. Something about finding each other at this point in life, we really do think about appreciation and preservation, just in case.
