What are some good CLEAN songs?

Asked by spallybob (57points) May 31st, 2011

I usually travel a lot so it’s kind of boring listening to the same 20 songs over and over again for 12 hours so I need a list of some clean music to listen to on my ipod that i can buy on itunes. I like almost any kind of music so it doesn’t matter what you list as long as it’s clean. :)

Gordon Lightfoot’s music is pretty clean and easy to listen to. I also listen to a lot of Blue grass and Celtic music, altho the Celtic stuff can get a little off color at times.

What is “clean” to you? No swearing? To talk of violence? No men singing about being in love with other men? Is Hot For Teacher ok?

Give me a genre and I can literally provide you with hundreds of songs.

If you’re into oldies, you can try my thread here for starters.

Most of the 60s folk/protest stuff is good for driving; Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan etc etc etc.

Anything by The Beatles
Anything by The Rippingtons
Anything by Andreas Vollenweider
Sadly, not everything by Lady Gaga, but I would listen to it anyway.

Far to vague for me to answer. I know great songs from pretty much any genre that are clean. Give me something to work with :P What are some other things you like?

I enjoy listening to podcasts on a drive. There are free ones that you can download from iTunes. I like KERA’s Think series, NPR’s All Songs Considered, Talk of the Nation, Freakonomics, and This American Life.
