Can anyone recommend some fun apps for the iPod Touch?

Asked by KateTheGreat (13640points) June 29th, 2011

I just bought my first iPod Touch and I really want to find some great apps for it! All suggestions are welcome.

It doesn’t matter whether they are free or not, I just want some suggestions! :)

You can get tetris for the iPod. I’ve loved that game since the days it was called Nyet.

Plants vs Zombies. I hate the zombie meme but the game is amazing. And check here. They lest games that are one sale for 99 cents or free everyday.

Tiny Wings, it’s such a cute game and doesn’t take too long to get used to.

@GracieT & @KatetheGreat it doesn’t exist anymore. For whatever reason they got rid of it. Just use the mobile site. I don’t know the URL though, so maybe someone else does…

Angry Birds (obviously)
Words with Friends
FML
Cat Physics
Cut the Rope

@erichw1504 Thanks, dear!

What’s everyone’s obsession with Angry Birds?

@KatetheGreat I didn’t think it was great either until I got hooked.

In addition to the Kindle don’t forget iBooks. I use both, but I like iBooks better because to turn the page it actually looks like you are turning the page.
As much as I enjoy the app,
using the URL might actually
be a better idea. The app is
lacking in some ways, like
most apps can be because of
limited space. I don’t know
why they retired it, though,
unless it (although I can’t
imagine why! :0) ). Thank you, @erichw1504 for the info. Maybe if we make a fuss they’ll bring it back! Using the URL is actually a better idea sometimes. The app is slightly limited, occasionally due to the space available on the iPhone.

NY Times Crossword Puzzle, Bejeweled 2, Fruit Ninja, and Crush the Castle are some of my favourites!

I lost many hours to Dungeon Solitaire.

iBooks is better than Kindle because with iBooks, you can buy ebooks directly within the app. Kindle app doesn’t provide this option.

Angry Birds – I got the paid version for more levels
Phase 10 – I had to pay
Broken Sword Director’s Cut – you’ll have to pay to get the full version
There are many BigFish Games app, if you like these type of hidden object games. They do have several free versions but you’ll have to pay to get the full game.
Cause of Death
Surviving High School
Frogger
Hoops
SkeeBall

@AshlynM, as an Apple user I agree with you that iBooks is best, BUT when I first purchased my iPad I was able to purchase books directly from my Amazon, Nook, and Kobo readers. I think that it was fuss from Apple that made other sites drop the ability to get books directly.
