Do you know of a good application that automatically erases web browsing through Google's Chrome?

I’m running a MacBookPro and would love to know if you know of any extensions for Chrome that automatically erase browsing history. Thanks!

Browse using an incognito window, and Chrome will not capture any browsing history or passwords or anything. No record at all, as far as I understand. Incognito browsing is built in on the PC platform.

Isn’t it there in the MAC version?

@wundayatta It’s definitely in the Mac version. I’m using Chrome right now on my MacBook and I can open an incognito window by typing ⇧⌘N.

@auhsojsa If you are trying to erase all of your old history, either type ⌘Y or go to History > Show Full History and then click “Edit items.” There should be a “Clear all browsing data” button.

@wundayatta Lol thanks. Yeah I don’t totally feel like a creeper on my own laptop with that feature :P @SavoirFaire Nope was just looking for an extension that does that for my browser automatically. I guess constantly tool wrench clicking isn’t that bad… If you guys ever find an extension let me know! I guess incognito is better anyhow since Google has no control over information of extensions made.

@auhsojsa There are also disadvantages to using incognito windows all the time, such as not being able to restore accidentally closed tabs. So instead, you could set Chrome to remove data every time you close the browser.

Go to Preferences > Under the Hood and click the “Content Settings” button at the top in the Privacy section. Then in the Cookies section at the top, check the box next to “Clear cookies and other site and plug-in data when I quit my browser.” You can have it remove everything or make exceptions.

If that’s still not what you are looking for, see if this application meets your needs.

Windows allows a high degree of customization to the User Interface; I use FreshUI (which won’t do you any good at all, of course). FreshUI offers as one of its options whether I want to clear my browser history each time I quit.

I presume that Macs offer some kind of customizing utility, but I wouldn’t be in a position to evaluate it. I’d look for something like that at the OS level.
