Why is it that with Travelzoo, in order to view a deal, I have to sign up and "be a member?"?

Asked by jca (36062points) January 25th, 2012

I am trying to view a deal on Travel Zoo. In order to view it, I have to sign up. Even though it’s free to sign up, why can’t I view the deal without being a member? It’s very annoying.

Their website, their rules.
My guess would be that it comes down to how they get the deals they offer. Most likely, the deals given are based on how many members they can prove they have at any given time.

I’d bet that to get pricing deals they tell their advertisers this:
With over 24 million subscribers, we are the largest publisher of deals on the Internet.
