Can someone tell me what house music exactly is?

Can someone tell me what the differences between house, techno, etc, are? Can someone post examples too of the difference? I know what dubstep sounds like, but still confused about the differences between other techno-ish dance music. Thanks.

They’re wide genres with their own subsets. Similar to how people argue about what rock, alternative etc really are.

Here’s one example of house music I have two of his albums that are great. You hear music like this in lounges and swanky bars in NYC, lol.

I’m still confused by electronica and techno.
