How much is a teacher being paid in New York?

Asked by Eggie (5921points) April 13th, 2012

I am thinking of migrating to New York when I am finished with my degree course but my family members who are there says that teachers are really underpaid. Can you tell me if this is true and what their salary is like? I am referring to teachers of the junior high school.

Now if you worked in Westchester County, they make boo-coo bucks. If you did your time in NYC and then left after a few and got the Westchester job, you would end up with about 80k. Google Scarsdale, Larchmont, Rye, just to name a few.

The second link is right to NYC department of education. I just tried it again, it works for me. If it does not work google, teacher salary new york city, and you should get it in your search.
