How come we haven't been wishing people on here a happy birthday?

Asked by ZEPHYRA (21750points) June 27th, 2012

Are we all against celebrating them after a certain age? Are there no birthday boys/girls around these days?

Mods decided long ago that birthday threads were verboten. Birthday wishes are sometimes included in threads such as the “Something great” thread.

For example, I would not be able to wish @Fly a happy birthday directly, but could slip it in somewhere (If I could only think of how).

There are other p;aces for birthdays. Here we celebrate lurve.

ZEPHYRA's avatar

So I should not dare wish the FLY a hippo birdie?????

Bellatrix's avatar

You can. You just can’t start a whole question wishing her ‘hippo birdie’.

@ZEPHYRA, @Bellatrix: ^^^ Sandra Boynton’s lawyer will be contacting you both shortly.

Well than it must be a “hoppo burp day”. Have one @FLY ! !

rebbel's avatar

Maybe if we word it slightly different?
“Commiserations, @rebbel, you only have a mere thirty five years to go!”

janbb's avatar

Alas poor @rebbel ; I knew him well.

Well there’d be a birthday every day pretty much and I feel it would be excessive. But yall can wish me a happy birthday on the 9th if you want! HOLLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DaphneT's avatar

How would you even know?

zensky's avatar

Because it’s not FB.

Yeah, we don’t allow birthday celebration questions. There would just be way too many, and we’d be bound to miss someone’s special day, too. You’re more than welcome to wish someone a happy birthday via PM or by cleverly incorporating it into an answer <cough – @gailcalled – cough>.

Fly's avatar

Thanks for the birthday burp day wishes, everyone!

Happy Birthday, Gail!

Oh Gail….....many happy returns!!!!!!

you see….I didn’t say the H…. B…....words!!!!!!!!!!

Bellatrix's avatar

I’ve never heard of Sandra Boynton so I blame @ZEPHYRA for any plagiarism :D My son used to say happy birdie so I will reference him (Matt 1995). (Sorry for dobbing @ZEPHYRA).

janbb's avatar

Gail’s birthday is in December.

FutureMemory's avatar

Oh jan, you know I was pretending to misread Auggie’s post ;)

And a proper “Happy Birthday” to Fly!

janbb's avatar

@FutureMemory Missed that! I’m a bit slow onthe uptake when I’ve been awake since 4!

ZEPHYRA's avatar

Happy B-day to Gail in December

ZEPHYRA's avatar

And while I’m at it, let me wish @Bellatrix a happy birdie(Matt 1995) for whenever it may be!

janbb's avatar

Well hell – Happy Birthday to all of youse!

gailcalled's avatar

Milo here: I expect everyone to remember my birthday because it’s Dec. 31. Or simply wish me a legitimate “happy unbirthday” on the other 364 days, which breaks no guidelines. Feel free to send cake, cash and catnip.

Bellatrix's avatar

Thank you @ZEPHYRA and a Happy Birdie (Matt 1995) to you too @ZEPHYRA. I hope it is a fun filled day :D

A very, merry unbirthday to you, to you…Mr Milo ((Mack David / Al Hoffman / Jerry Livingston).

ZEPHYRA's avatar

Twas in February…..but what the heck!

Bellatrix's avatar

It is your unbirthday today they @ZEPHYRA . Mine was in April but I think I will celebrate my unbirthday today :D
