What can I do if I was put on unpaid administrative leave as a teacher?

Asked by sportsrfun (7points) April 11th, 2013

The principal walked in during first period and said I need your keys and computer. You can meet me downstairs. When I did meet with the principal and assistant principal, they said I was being put on unpaid administrative leave. They stated that they could not give me a reason. They stated that someone from central office would be contacting me, and it is now 3 days later and no one has contacted me. There is nothing I can think of that would warrant this type of outcome. What are your suggestions?

Call your union rep. That’s what they’re there for.

I’m with @Seek_Kolinahr Call the rep and get the union attorney involved.

Find an attorney and polish up your resume.

My friend was fired from her school because she was about to get tenure (not sure if that is the correct usage.) Surely you’d know if you did something THAT bad. I’d call central office if it was me.

In your question you say, “There is nothing I can think of that would warrant this type of outcome” the way you phrase that leads me to believe you have done something but you didn’t consider it particularly serious. What have you done?
