For the past week, I've had some extremely realistic dreams, and I remember them easily. How often does this happen to you?

And I usually have funny dreams, but last night I had one that was unusually stark.

Almost all the time.

I sympathize. I’ve been having extremely vivid, angry dreams lately about work. They come in early morning, just before I used to get up for work. I retired earlier this year, so my guess is that these dreams are about unfinished business concerning my career.

It happens to me when I am upset about things happening in my waking life. Fortunately, they are a rare occurrence these days.

I think it’s rare enough that I actually remember my dreams, which happened last night.

Most of the time. But it is always unusual or weird things that are not at all significant so I never understand why I would get such dreams. For the past few days I have been dreaming about snakes (infact snake like creature with big head) and last night I dreamt it was near my Mom’s bed.

Rarely, maybe once every couple of years. When I have a dream like that it’s usually a kind of Indiana-Jones type thing, they even have a plot (bad plot, but plot nonetheless). In the last one, I was chasing someone (no idea who or why) over the rooftops of Cairo. I have never been to Cairo.

Always, and in living color.

@Skaggfacemutt my dreams are always in colour too.

@downtide And mine also have a plot, like a movie (bad movie, but still). They even often have background music and sound effects. But in the big chase scene, I am usually the one running.

@Skaggfacemutt usually I am the one being chased too, but in this particular dream it was the other way round. At one point I even did the jump-off-the-roof-and crash-through-the-awnings stunt. Oh boy, if only I could do that stuff when I’m awake. I could be Tom Cruise’s stunt double (yeah, right).

Most often after I have eaten a dill pickle before bedtime.

Yes, often. When I wake up from a dream like that, I spend some time before getting up to “relive” it to try to plant it in my memory. When the dream is especially vivid and seems to hold some emotional weight for me, I write it down.

@downtide Your last comment made me laugh. Ha-ha!

@Skaggfacemutt I’m too short to be anyone else’s stunt-double. But I would need a wig. And be filmed from the rear only.

@downtide – Tom Cruise is listed as 5’7”, so he’s probably really 5’4”.
