What is the purpose behind a "Zyngite" in Words With Friends?

Asked by Dutchess_III (28291 points ) February 1st, 2014

Very, very rarely I’ll play an invalid word and it says it’s not a word, but then says “But congratulations! You’ve discovered a Zyngite! and a picture of the girl in a bathtub shows up (see link.) I’ve been playing for almost a year and I’ve gotten 4 or 5 of them. Today I got one and picture of a dude showed up.

I keep waiting to get a check for a million dollars in the mail or something, but all I get is another bill.

What’s up with that?

It’s what is known as an “easter egg” in computer land. Here is a brief explanation. Now I’m going to watch for one!

I’ve been playing just a few months, and I never saw one of these.

I am curious which platform you see these on… I’ve been playing WWF on iOS for years, and have never seen these.

It’s on my desktop if that makes any difference. Go to tedibear’s link. It has comments from people saying what word they tried to spell that gave them one.

@Dutchess_III – I did go to the link before commenting, and I’m pretty sure I’ve tried some of those words and have never seen that or heard it mentioned before. You’re on your desktop – but is it an App, or are you playing through Facebook or the Zynga website?

Through fb on the Zynga website.

I wonder if it’s a Windows only easter egg?

Could be.
