How to come out of frequent health issues?

Asked by imrainmaker (8380points) June 27th, 2017

It’s become like a vicious circle. This is becoming frustrating day by day. How to come out of this situation?

Health is important. I’m sorry you allude to having many difficulties. I hope you have a good doctor. Tell him/her your frustrations. S/He may have some very good ideas about how to feel better or how to stop thinking about it so much.

I have some health issues, and meditation helps me a great deal to remain calm despite the difficulties. I also find good quality sleep is important, too. Exercise helps, but I’ve got some foot issues that’s making that impossible at the moment, and I miss it.

It depends on what your health issues are, and how you take care of them.

Do you see a doctor regularly? Do you feel comfortable with your doctor? Do you feel like you can speak openly with your doctor, and that you have good back and forth communication with him/her? What has the doctor told you to do? Did he/she prescribe medications? If so, do you take them as prescribed and have they helped? Do you exercise regularly? Do you eat a balanced and healthy diet? Do you do any kind of meditation or other stress relieving activities? Do you have supportive friends and family? Have you considered joining a support group for your specific problem?

I am sorry you are having health issues, I know first hand that this can be a bear. Sometimes, simply managing is the best you can do, but mindful managing can ameliorate a lot of distress.
If you have already determined what’s wrong, and it can’t really be alleviated with medical intervention, then I recommend what @Hawaii_Jake says.

Trying to do everything right has the potential of increasing your stress, which could wipe out the benefits of what you’re trying to accomplish. It all sounds counterintuitive, I know.

I appreciate that the frustration is taking its toll, I hope you feel better soon.
