Favorite techno myth?

“A faster desktop computer will make me more productive.”

Computers will replace paper one day.

By the year 2000 well all be driving hovercars and talking on 3-D picture phones. All our meals will come in pill form.

Being constantly available to friends and work (via cell phones and blackberries) will improve the quality of life. I think it sucks!

Also, that robotic furless dogs are a substitufe for the real thing (which is, of course, coke) .

By 1984 we’ll live in an authoritarian police state where thought is carefully controlled and dissent is squashed… Hmm, looks like Orwell was only some 30 years off!
