Why does Biden fail to relentlessly dog Trump?

Asked by stanleybmanly (24153points) February 13th, 2020 from iPhone

Bloomberg never misses a chance to badmouth the dummy in the proper NY street fighting mode our fool utilizes to great advantage. The shoe is on the other foot once the method is employed with a brain driving it

He is imbued with the same kind of class the Obama’s had.

Could it be that he doesn’t really want to be the candidate???

He has (some) class?

Dutchess_III's avatar

So, if a person doesn’t act like an asshole they don’t really want the job, @LadyMarissa ?

LadyMarissa's avatar

You know that’s NOT what I said @Dutchess_III . Biden calls a voter ”‘a lying, dog-faced pony soldier”, but he refuses to engage trump. You don’t have to act like an asshole to engage an opponent. Obama proved that!!!

Dutchess_III's avatar

Do you have any proof the Biden call a voter that name?

@Dutchess_III He said it, video below. In all fairness, everyone laughed and it did seem like a joke to me.

Honestly I find Biden staying humorous and not wallowing in the mud quite refreshing.

Dutchess_III's avatar

So he said it as a joke.

I find it refreshing too.

@Dutchess_III: “I find it refreshing too.”

You must have loved his story about his leg hair.

Dutchess_III's avatar

No, didn’t care for that.
We were referring to his refusal to insult his political opponents as being refreshing.

Wish I can ask Biden this question in person.

I couldn’t help but wonder what if when trump was just starting to learn people liked his nastiness, what if Jeb or some other Republican Presidential primary candidate shouted him down with insults and even spit the f-word right at his face?

trump was a pathetic bully and none of his competitors took him on the way a bully should have been dealt with.

I agree with you. Trump is the opponent with whom common courtesies must be dismissed. White gloved decorum and good manners are wasted, even dangerous with a pig. He should be met with and treated as the signature pig he is and dealt with appropriately.

Was disheartening and bewildering to witness what Jeb Bush and the rest were not doing when trump was mocking them. There was only a brief window of opportunity to stop that from gaining momentum but no one did!

Not one candidate or any of their campaign advisers had the smarts and the balls to do what needed doing. They overestimated the level of decency of Republican voters.

Looks to me like Biden is afraid of trump. He acts with trump like trump acts with Putin – scared

Inspired_2write's avatar

Biden has class in that he presents HIS ideas rather than stoop to Trumps low class moves.

Biden is over. His sack is empty.

It’s really sad when in this environment, a grown ass man acts like a bratty, spoiled 2 year old toward an adult, and that adult doesn’t respond in kind, and he is labeled as being “afraid” of the grown ass 2 year old, or that he “doesn’t really want the job.” Do you guys really want another grown ass, bratty, spoiled two year old in the White House or do you want an actual grown up who has some restraint?

LadyMarissa's avatar

OMG, STOP acting like a grown ass, bratty 2 year old who’s not getting her way!!! Since 1972, Biden has managed to handle himself with some restraint without allowing his opponents to walk all over him. He has always run his campaigns with a fire in his belly like he really wanted the job. He refused to run in 2016 and he waited until the last minute to decide to run in 2020. Sanders is kicking his ass and he doesn’t seem to care. He seems to just be going through the motions of running for office. I think he will be relieved when he’s NOT the candidate!!! Contrary to your claims, he does NOT need to lower himself to trump’s level in order to defend himself. He’s a seasoned politician who is an expert at winning the position he wants to win without acting like trump…give the man some credit!!!
