In your town, where you shop locally, which stores would you say get most custom from you?

It’s always good to support local businesses & then the whole community prospers.

What do you mean by “get most custom from you”?

I spend the most money at The Ministry of Silly Walks.

@raum

I’d guess that since custom is the root word for customer, that it basically means business.
E.g., “Which stores get the most business from you?”.

@raum Who gets most $/£/€ from your pocket?

ucme's avatar

That’s a funny one, most custom is a frequently used term over here, plain English.

For me it’s Whole Foods, vE Station (vegan Thai place I go to about once a week), and Target.

Safeway, Super store, Sobeys.

Martins (grocery store), Palumbo’s (local butcher), and a few locally owned restaurants when we can go out to dinner.

For me it must be either the sportswear shop or pet store.
I have spent a small fortune in both, I may buy them out lol

Just restaurants and the one grocery store, but it’s a small town.

With only two grocery stores in Town and one is closer I go to that one for years now. Sometimes Restaurants.

There’s a locally owned Italian coffee/food joint we frequent, er…very frequently. Since they also have a drive through, they’ve kept busy during quarantine too.

The chain grocery store gets most of my money, but as far as non-chain local businesses go, there are a few restaurants I visit regularly, including two where they know my “usual” order.

I have to be thrifty with my time spent outside home. I shop Walmart because I can get groceries and none food items in the same location. I shop mostly online, including food delivery.

That is easy for me. Wegmans (grocery store) gets the lion’s share. Then Lowe’s Home Improvement (hardware store) about 8 miles away.

Brian1946's avatar

@LuckyGuy

I’m also about 8 miles from the closest Lowe’s.

How far are you from the nearest Home Depot?

LuckyGuy's avatar

@Brian1946 According to google maps, Home Depot is 12 miles, 20 minutes.
Lowe’s is 8 miles, 14 minutes.

And I have been avoiding Home Depot since they gave their departing CEO, Nardelli a $210 million severence package while laying off employees making minimum wage.

Groceries, and local the hardware store, all walkable within about a half mile.
