If right wing republicans call someone a communist, then my assumption is that the person (Romney) is probably a good guy and a good candidate.

The right wing is wrong almost 100% of the time. Take the opposite of what they say, and you will have the truth.

It’s a stampede to the right and those at the back of the crush are the communists.

If they weren’t so powerful, the Republican party as it is now constituted would be laughable.

He might have Socialist tendencies, but not so much full-blown Communist tendencies, whatever type of Socialist Communism ones are meant.

Who knows, maybe they were going to call him a Nazi but didn’t want to offend any Jewish people.

I’ve never heard any conservatives call Mitt Romney a communist. And the Guardian article cited is full of misinformation.

It’d be good to see who actually said that. I can believe it, since so many Trumpers are batshit crazy and prone to say extreme nonsense about anyone who disagrees with them on anything, but can we confirm who actually said it?

@Zaku Only The Guardian has said it thus far.

He’s certainly a moron.

From what I recall, it was the left who was calling him a racist, misogynist. homophobe—basically everything they said about Trump.

When challenged in a debate. he presented evidence of his record for the hiring of women by showing their profiles in a series of binders. for which this was somehow deemed evidence of his misogyny, and then it was over for him.

Yet he now embraces those selfsame liars and accusers in their continual assault on Trump.

That’s pretty moronic. But not if you’re an opportunist who now thinks the Left will help you get ahead if you’re on their team.

But I’ve never heard anyone call him a communist, or anything but the traitor he is.

Seems pretty obvious to me that Trump is the actual traitor, and the Republicans willing to at least speak some truth rather than agreeing with Trump’s lies and nonsense are the last shreds of any propriety left in the Republican party. And it says a lot about how low the current Republican party has sunk, that Mitt Romney is one of the most conspicuous of those standing up to the Trumpist lunacy.
