What are some songs about brain damage?

Asked by bluemukaki (4332points) September 20th, 2008

I’m looking for any song which talks about brain damage or hemorrhages in the lyrics, Pink Floyd’s Brain Damage does not need mentioning… this isn’t a specific song I just don’t know the name of, I just want songs on the topic! (I know it’s weird but its for a film and I need to quickly explain what happened to a guy without any kind of visual or dialogue for exposition)

Hmmm…. eminem doesn’t really go with the theme of the film… I’m thinking more ‘Alternative’ or Indie.

I think I should mention that Danity Kane’s song Damaged got stuck in my head after reading the title of this post.

I don’t know what kind of mood you’re going for with the song, but the song Colorblind by Counting Crows could represent someone with brain damage.

There is also Brain Problem Situation by They Might Be Giants.
EDIT: This link wasn’t what I was expecting. It’s interesting, though.

I’ll keep an ear out for more songs about this… This is pretty challenging.

check out the Flaming Lips. at the moment i can’t think of a specific lyric that deals with brain damage…but i think their music (especially songs from the album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots) might fit thematically. The title song is actually about a girls (losing) battle with illness in a hospital…

the Ramones have songs like “Cretin Hop” that may be something like what you need. Devo has “Mongoloid” – i know both these are not exactly brain damage but check them out and maybe check out other Ramones songs – they have good lyrics.

Pink Floyd. Even tho you don’t wanna hear it.

Also, Octavarium by Dream Theater. Well… “ish”

Maybe “Girlfriend in a Coma,” by The Smiths.
