Is it possible to download tv shows directly onto my iPhone?

Asked by Supergirl (1696points) January 23rd, 2009

I have Googled this and not been able to come up with an answer. When I use iTunes on my iPhone, and search for a tv show, only music and podcasts show up in the results. Is this not an option?

The files are far too large, it would take days over a 3g connection.

You have to download them on your computer and then sync them over.

just because the itunes store has come over to 3G now doesn’t make it any better, itunes for the ipod/iphone is still mobile no matter which way you look at it, and like said, downloading some as large as a tv show isn’t all that conventional for most people.

But who knows, maybe one day we will see iPhone specific shows/movies you can download from the itunes store .. one day.. far in the future.

right now however, no it isn’t possible besides just downloading them onto your computer and having to sync it over.

It is only possible to download podcasts on your iPhone. Some of the podcasts are just as big as TV shows so you minus well be able to download tv shows.

Downloading would take too long…what about video streaming?
Why not look into some video streaming sites? Then you can watch on the go.

Yeah and what if you’re connected to a wifi service why shouldn’t you be able to download them directly.. I think it’s ridiculous

http://www.tv.com/iphone isn’t great, but it’s a little better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
