What is your favorite character from a TV show?

Asked by TenaciousDenny (1149points) February 16th, 2009

My top 3 (in no particular order) are:

Tobias Funke from Arrested Development (GOB is close behind)
Johnny Drama from Entourage
Charlie from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

ok, now it’s your turn! Feel free to be more descriptive than me and tell why. I obviously like the funny/goofy guys.

When I was a young teen, I had a mad crush on Reverend Jim from Taxi. In a way, it kind of explains my sad luck with guys before meeting the current one.

Also Wash from Firefly. How can ya not like Wash? Competant, and wacky.

The last is as cheesy as all get-out, but do you remember that show Beauty and the Beast in the 80s? I thought Vincent was pretty special.

I haven’t watched TV in years. Perhaps it shows.

House- he says what all of us wish we could say and even when wrong (which is often) says it with confidence.
Hurley on LOST- the eternal optimist

Bri_L's avatar

@nmguy – Totally Hawkeye from MASH. And welcome to Fluther. He got the greatest lines.

I love his bit about “I’ll carry over, carry under, carry on, carry grant, carry me back to west virginia, I’ll even harry carry if you show me how, but I will not carry a gun Frank”

tinyfaery's avatar

Spike from Buffy
Karen from Will & Grace
House
Jennifer Saunders as Edina in AbFab

cdwccrn's avatar

Any of them on Big Bang Theory, especially Sheldon or Leonard, and the sweet blond.

cookieman's avatar

@nmguy and Bri_L: I’ll third Hawkeye Pierce.

He was my hero growing up. Not only was he funny as hell, but he could be tender, direct, and did what was right. And, he was probably the best surgeon on the base but never took himself too seriously. I loved too that his flaws were practically on his sleeve.

Now I want to go watch MASH.

saranwrapper's avatar

Lucy Ricardo always and forever. Although I really do love Ethel Mae Mertz as well.
