Do I have to be in U.S to be able to participate in Google's Summer of Code?

…what you obviously couldn’t have found yourself ;-)

Luckily it’s not the case (I am considering joining in). Do take note of this though:

> residents and nationals of Iran, Syria, Cuba, Sudan, North Korea and Myanmar (Burma),
> with whom we are prohibited by U.S. law from engaging in commerce,
> are ineligible to participate

An unfortunate situation but nothing Google can do anything about…

I live in Jordan, so luckily, this doesn’t apply to me.
