Least favorite Star Wars Movie?

Asked by Blobman (516points) May 1st, 2009

I’ve seen a lot of questions asking about people’s favorite Star Wars movie. I would like to know your least favorite and why. It was a very hard choice for me, but i finally came up with episode 3 because of the acting.

The one with that little kid that can’t act. And jar-jar binks, what a bink-head. All the new ones had a “produced” feel to it, especially the music scores… It was trying to appeal to all age groups I believe, but it should have left out the kids and younger teenagers with it’s target group.

I am sorry, but I dislike just about everything except the first one. That one was marvelous, especially at the time it came out.

All of the “Episodes”. The kid was a horrible actor, even the actor that played teenage Anakin. Nothing will beat the originals, I love them. My mother tape the first three when they came on HBO on VHS in the 80’s. Just seeing the pasty, crappy special effects is classic. Even the fight scenes in the original were more serious and not drawen out.

Episode 2. No contest. Acting and writing.

@AtSeDaEsEpPoAoSnA Um, they’re all “Episodes.”

I know they are all “Episodes”. The first three where all just called Star Wars when I was growing up. When someone is talking about the new ones they refer to them as the “First Episode” or the “Second Episode”.

@aidje-I don’t like the first, second or third episode.

The one with Spock in it.

@AtSeDaEsEpPoAoSnA Well, when I was growing up, I knew that the original trilogy was episodes IV-VI, and my friends and I would sometimes refer to them by their episode number. We knew (or perhaps only hoped) that someday we would get to see episodes I-III. So it’s nothing new for us to refer to them as episodes and by number.

I liked the light saber noise in the first 3 created better. More crisp.

Episodes 1 and 2 were my least favorite. Poor acting, bad character development, and they were less involved and interesting as compared to episodes 4, 5, and 6.

Agree, 1 and 2 were pretty flat. Menace being the worst. I stood in line for a day to get a ticket and was so disappointed.

Phantom of the Menace was god awful. Attack of the clones wasnt much better, but at least that movie gave a bit more back story on the star wars universe. Revenge of the Sith was a lot better but i still found Anakin way to whiny to be totally likeable and need i mention “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

Four, five, and six were great, with Return of the Jedi being the best IMO.

I really kind of wish that the movies were made in the proper order from the start just because of graphics, Episodes 1–3 were visually stunning but lacking in story. While 4–6 had the story and were more involved but less attractive to watch (though i realize they were out of this world for their time)

@uberbatmanThe Empire Strikes Back was the best in the series. Search your feelings. You know this to be true.

El_Cadejo's avatar

@Blondesjon i like that a lot, but it was a total downer the whole film (which is cool) but i just liked Return of the Jedi more because it brought everything together and wrapped it up. Plus this :)

Revenge of the Jedi had its moments but I am forever scarred by the fact that the Ewoks had visible zippers. Of course, the speeder bike chase rocked.

Star Wars Episode 5: The Final Frontier was pretty bad.
Episode Two: The Wrath of Khan was much better.

@astrochuck: I want to flag that as obscene :)

I’m torn by this question. Its either episode I or VI. Jar Jar was bothersome, but the Ewoks were even more so. I’d say it has to be VI (for that reason)
