Outlook calendar time zone troubles?

Asked by bpeoples (2551points) July 20th, 2009

The problem has been well documented, but I’m wondering if anyone’s found a solution. I work from home in the Eastern time zone. The other 7/8 of my company is in the Pacific Time Zone.

We put a lot of “All Day Tasks” on the calendar, which show up for me as “3a-3a” tasks, rather than being “all day on July 22”. When I put things on the calendar, they show up as 9p-9a.

Is there any way to solve the problem? Put things on the calendar as 3a-9p? Some automated tool to scour the calendar looking for 24-hour tasks?

I wonder if Exchange on the backend hasn’t been upgraded in a while.

Are you even using Exchange?

Used to see that problem here. But now it’s gone since some update or other was laid down.

Currently using Outlook 2007… so I don’t think it’s the email client that’s the problem by itself.

That’s a good thought—we’re using Outlook 2007 on a SBS2k3 backend, so it’s possible that’s the problem.

That sounds right… I do think the All-Day-Event-Ignoring-Timezones problem did disappear from here when they announced Exchange 2007 going in.
