Why are there so many questions about places to go in SF?

Asked by Supacase (14563points) November 10th, 2009

I have noticed several questions asking for specific types of places (coffee shops, hotels, that type of thing) in the San Fransisco area, but have rarely seen it for any other place. Am I overlooking some obvious reason for this?

Perhaps because our Founders and the Fluther main headquarters are up there.

Also could be because San Francisco is a common destination for travelers. It seems to be very desirable to live there.

Uh, it’s because everybody’s visiting me, duh…

Also, it’s like the greatest city in the country and very trendy.

Yeah- and because ^ ^ @DominicX lives there too. ;)

Outside of San Fransicos being the number one place in the world for people to visit (the new millenium version of Paris), I also wonder why. The websites dedicated to the wonderful places to find everything you would possibly want to know, with multiple reviews included on many of them, should answer everyone’s question. There is very little possibility that a little neighborhood hideout would not appear on a website dedicated to “little neighborhood hideouts” somewhere.
