personality? er…no….appearance, maybe slightly but nothing drastic. location, though, YES YES YES! i dont know, i change what needs to be changed to make me happy. but things are going well and you know what my old grandpappy used to say…if it aint broke dont fix it. so i guess i havent really had much reason to change so much in my life so far.

I need to change how I am living my life to pursue things I want.

I wish I knew the future but thats crazy, Id love to go at music because it NEVER feels like a job in all aspects of it. but there no money in it hardly.

so I need to take a step back and arrange my life basically. Ah well.

I’m /willing/ to change my situations to make myself happy, I just do not have the motivation to change anything.

I love my name; it’s the right mix of unique and pronounceable. I do want to write some stuff under a pen name, but I have a hell of time thinking of pen names.

I’ve changed my appearance drastically, having grown my hair to shoulder-length and shaved it skin-bald several times already. I once reached a colossal weight for me of 230lbs.! Though it didn’t show too badly on my 5’11” frame, I guess. I’m more muscular now than I’ve ever been in my life my shoulders are so broad now that I can’t sit comfortably between two people at the movie theater.

Location is something I think about all the time. I love NYC and have never lived anywhere else. I don’t have a good reason to leave, but I wonder if I would be even happier somewhere else.

Hey drdoombot thats funny because I lived in FL my whole life and Ive talked to people who live in NYC I keep planning to visit there just to see what its like.

I don’t really feel like I need to change anything. Why should I? I’m happy. I mean, after college, I will change my location to who knows where, but it’s not something I can worry about now. I make minor changes to my appearance every now and then (I got the coolest jacket and Pac Sun this weekend) and my name is awesome, so no changes there. :)

I’m generally pretty ambitious, so if I do feel the need for change, I will probably go through with it.

theoretically i would change everything . . . I know the exact person I would want to change into. Literally Im too lazy to change so I guess Im not willing to put forth the effort.

I have been so many different people in my life, I can’t remember all of me anymore. I change what needs to be changed when I need to change it. But inside I am still me and always will be. What changes is usually extraneous and my true self.

I have learned though that I should only every change because I want to change. To do it for someone else or to please someone else only causes resentment in the long run.

I’m quite happy with my life the way it is, thank you. I have already done all of the above, and a whole lot more.

Location in a heartbeat, appearance in a heartbeat, name is fine. Much money would be needed for the appearance because I’d want to go back to late 30’ early 40’s sigh

I’ve always been happy with my life, regardless of the things that I guess all of us have been through sometime (relationships, moments of embarressment, etc) As to changing my life, I wouldn’t have my life any other way.

If I could magically alter my appearance, there’d be some pretty drastic changes, but I’m not at a point where the risks and the price of surgery outweigh the distress I feel being the way I am. I’m planning on changing my location as soon as possible — once I’ve had my surgery, recovered, and gotten healthy enough to be able to work again. And once I’ve moved, I will officially legally change my name.

So… I’m willing to change all the things you mentioned, and probably some others.

To be honest I would love a total redo right now. The way I see it, I’m still in my “High School” stage, despite the fact I’m a college sophomore. Still under parental rule, only friends are from grade school, and my only love so far was my “high school sweetheart.”

But she left me, my friends are growing distant, and I’m growing tired of this island (I’m from Har-waii.) So that chapter of my life is pretty much over.

I want to start a new chapter where I don’t have to deal with these reminders of the past chapter. If I had it my way, I’d attend some college on the mainland. Hopefully make new friends and find new love. A think a change in appearance would be good too. The bow on the present.

I think the main issue though is money. Being out of state would increase the cost of tuition. And I already got two years of class in my current college. Shame to see that go to waste.

With the means then I’d change all three, yes.

Name: First name no, last name yes.

Location: In a heartbeat.
Children: Not for all the money in the world.
Boyfriend: Not for all the money in the world.
Dog: In a hot second.
Car: Just changed it yesterday.

Well, I was born, raised, educated, employed and retired in Los Angeles. I did quite a bit of traveling and had opportunities to change location, but really never considered living elsewhere. .
I like my names. I was named after Gary Cooper, whatthefluther rolls off the tongue nicely, people have fun with my initials (wtf) and my surname is Spanish, not at all common, but very well known and easily recognizable.
I’ve dated, lived with and married some incredibly beautiful women, so my appearance seems to be okay and there is nothing startling I’d want to change.
I’ve generally been happy my entire life, successful at most everything I’ve ever attempted and lived a rich full life.
My health? I’d change it in a heart beat.
See ya….Gary/wtf

What ever it takes. Life is an adventure.

I think it would be interesting to change my identity and start over somewhere new. I wouldn’t change my appearance (maybe a few pounds lost, but that’s it) but I would change my name and where I lived. I’m the type of person that is always rearranging the furniture in the house because I get bored with it and want a new look. I love change. I would move in a heartbeat.

I would change anything and everything if life called for it and it felt right…but I would really hate to leave NY for something worse like Iowa

If I knew it’d make me happier, I’d be willing to do whatever it took, except leave my fiancé. As far as moving or changing my looks, bring it on!

I am a great believer in ‘fixing’ what you feel isn’t right or accepting that it can’t be fixed and moving on. When I hit my 30’s I had a re-think about my life and choices I have made. Subsequently I returned to education, gained a Degree and now have a new career. I’ve also made some big life changing decisions in the last 18 months.

As a result all of these changes have resulted in me definitely gaining confidence and I feel I have developed as a person.

oh how good it would be to be whatthefluther eh.. :P
I would change many things.. which i slowly am doing in my own life at the moment :D
Life is good and i aim to make it better and better week by week, But i like my name and location as everyone else says sure id move if the circumstances were right, I’m quite the family person though. But Im 100% willing to change my life everyday.

Would you change your name? Eh, it’s kind of boring, but it’s mine… I think I’ll keep it.
Your appearance? I don’t think changing my appearance would make me on whit happier, so probably not. If it was a magical quick-change, I’d drop the extra weight & have the jaw re-alignment surgery. It’d be a nice perk, but not necessary.
Location? In a second! I miss my old town a great deal, and would move back if there were any way I could afford to. I don’t know that life would be happier… but it’d sure be easier.
Like @whatthefluther, I’d change my health in a heartbeat.

seeing_red's avatar

I’m already happy, therefore I don’t need to change a thing.
