What movies are you trying to download?

Sounds like you have a codec problem, but VLC should be able to run it. It has it’s own codecs. Try getting the DivX codec pack.

Some more information would help. File type?

You don’t know where they are from. You downloaded them with μTorrent. Different trackers have different standards, including ethical standards. You can expose your computer to a world of trouble by promiscuously downloading whatever from who-knows-where.

Use VLC to play them. It’s free to download and will play basically any file type and works on every operating system.

@StellarAirman He said he already tried it with VLC.

@dimitris “Why does this program exist?”

Do you mean “Why is it allowed to exist?” Because it can be used for non-illegal purposes. Sharing your own private works with the world, for example.

Do you mean “Why does it exist even though downloading movies is illegal?” Because people are immoral and don’t consider theft of artistic productions stealing as long as no physical medium has been removed.

The thing to remember here is that Torents get you files no different from any other file of the same type.

If you download a torrent of an MP3, you will get an MP3 file that is no different from any other MP3 obtained from any other source (iTunes, rippind a CD…).
If you download an MPEG video torrent, you will get an MPEG video file no diff… welll, you know the words.

But without knowing the file type, I don’t think anyone here can help you.
