Who would make a good ambassador for Scotland?

Asked by scotsbloke (3756points) December 15th, 2009

Theres a lot of famous Scots, regardles of where you are in the world; who’s your favourite and why ?

One of my favourites is Ewan Mcgregor. He seems like SUCH a nice guy, down to earth and grounded, he does lots for charity and is very family orientated, he also has a good sense of humor!

Why Sean Connery is a poor choice:

“I don’t think there is anything particularly wrong about hitting a woman… If a woman is a bitch, or hysterical, or bloody-minded continually, then I’d do it.” – Sean Connery.

@Snarp That doesn’t sound like something James Bond would say!

In answer to the question, I’d pick The Proclaimers. They could make up a really cheesy (but fun) ‘80’s-type song about why Scotland is so wonderful.

Willy the groundskeeper.

@lonelydragon He said it in a Playboy interview. While he was playing James Bond in Thunderball. There are also allegations that he beat his wife, but I can’t say for sure if he did.

Too bad because I love him as an actor.
