I’ve heard from many many people that it is supposed to be amazing. Did you see it? Any good?

Absolutely, and see it in IMAX 3D if you can!

Oh yes you should, it’s very, very good, has a strong message and is also entertaining suspense and action wise.

Edit: And if you buy the Special Edition DVD, you can see some Avatar sex too lol. Like big smurfs getting it on O.o

@Blackberry love the edit, sounds thrilling…haha

I absolutely loved it and I’m not a huge Sci-Fi fan either. I enjoyed the plot and the graphics are outstanding. They really did a wonderful job with this movie.

Hope you love it!

The movie is crap—boring and predictable. The script is horrible and so are some of the peformances, but the special effects are amazing. Go for the experience, but don’t expect much.

gymnastchick729's avatar

@tinyfaery that’s what I was thinking, but some of my friends loved it, so now, I’m not sure.

JJJones's avatar

@tinyfaery maybe the first bad thing i’ve heard about the movie…cool!

Tinafairy does have a point, but it doesn’t destroy the whole movie, you can see it just for the entertainment aspect. I wouldn’t say it’s crap, but it’s a typical movie, most movies are predictable.

another yes vote… saw it in 3D on IMAX, knew nothing about it beforehand… blown away
yes, it does have a predictable storyline, but is beautiful nonetheless go see it with someone you l♥ve

I know a lot of industry people, many with flm degrees. They all call it Avaterrible.

toomuchcoffee911's avatar

I thought it was awesome. You should definitely see it. In 3D and if you can, IMAX.

@tinyfaery Some of the people on the lower echelon of film-going aren’t as advanced as you guys, so some may be surprised and like it more than expected :)

Bluefreedom's avatar

I saw it in IMAX 3-D also and it was one of the most outstanding movie experiences I can ever remember. Yes, you should definitely see Avatar because it is truly excellent.

filmfann's avatar

Yes, go see it, just so you can talk to people about it.
It’s not the best movie of the year. It’s Dances With Smurfs.

therookie's avatar

honsetly when I had first saw the trailers I thought WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO THE SMURFS!!
—they are making live action smurfs movie—-

syz's avatar

It’s Dances With Wolves in space (same story line) but visually STUNNING!! So worth seeing it in 3D at an Imax theater. I will be going back to see it again.

avvooooooo's avatar

I loved it. :)

Zaku's avatar

It’s good, especially if you actually like CGI graphics. ;-)

Michael_Huntington's avatar

I think so. The movie has received such overwhelmingly positive reviews from the majority of moviegoers and critics alike. So it’s pretty much a safe bet to watch it.

Maximillian's avatar

YES. GO SEE IT RIGHT NOW. PERHAPS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER. It got like a 30 million budget or something outrageous like that. They had to create a whole new software for the special effects.

Supacase's avatar

Yes! I had absolutely no interest in seeing it, but agreed to go with my husband anyway. Turned out that I actually liked it quite a bit. The story isn’t going to win any awards, but the graphics alone are more than worth the 2 hours and $10.

StellarAirman's avatar

@Maximillian Uh, maybe you missed a zero there? It’s been estimated in the $300 – $500 million dollar range, not $30.

But it’s made well over a billion dollars already and is the second highest grossing movie of all time, after the other James Cameron movie, Titanic.

toomuchcoffee911's avatar

@Supacase 2 hours and 40 minutes! My butt fell asleep partway through :)

Bluefreedom's avatar

The movie Avatar already has worldwide gross earnings of $1,131,752,464 (source) which is pretty incredible. If a movie makes over a billion dollars, that’s saying a lot.

loiyujhdduehf's avatar

the movie avatar is the effing ish! you should deffinately watch it, yo!!!!

Save Avatar in 2D (mixup on the moving planning) – but still enjoyed it. Classic Cowboy and Indian plot-line, just changed to an alien planet (and oh yeah – the Indians win this time..). Planning to see it again in 3D just to appreciate the effects again. Love to see a movie with pretty colors to look at…
