Facebook friend request confusion?

Asked by xTheDreamer (897points) January 20th, 2010

I had send a friend request to someone on Facebook but apparently that person didn’t accept the friend request BUT I can see his status update, wall-, link-, image posts etc but I can’t “like” or comment that person’s post.

How is that possible?

And would this happen to me if I don’t accept nor ignore friend requests from other people? Would they see my status update and wall post etc even if I hadn’t accepted nor ignored them?

I believe it all depends on how they have their privacy settings arranged. Some folks let it all hang out so everyone can see their wall, status update, photos, etc. Others limit what non-friends can see.

With the new privacy settings a lot of people’s private profiles became public if they did not go in and update their settings.

Go into your settings and make sure everything is checked that you want to be. I would also suggest logging out completely and revisiting your profile. You will see what everyone who is not your friend sees.

(sorry, @xtheDreamer, a bit off topic for the moment).

Looks up. I’m in the mood for a 20K party. How about you?

It’s a privacy setting – It all depends on how you want your site to be viewed and how others want theirs viewed.
