What do you think of the flying humanoid sightings in Mexico?

Asked by Spinel (3220points) January 24th, 2010

This came up during lunch today. Some think it’s the real deal, others think it’s just pieces of tarp blowing in the wind.

Ever since 1877, sightings of flying, human like, but greatly horrific creatures have been reported. Sometimes the same creature is seen by multiple people.

The skeptic in my comes to the surface. I would think something like a flying person would be noticed by thousands, not just dozens of people. And the photographs/videos are always so blurry.

What do you think about the possibility of flying humanoids? Fact? Fiction? Part truth?

It’s just a bunch of comedians flying to Las Vegas, and boy, are their arms tired.

Easy to make one of those. They’re fun, actually. Inflate black plastic garbage bags and seal them. Build a humanoid structure. Set in sun. Wait.

Harrumph! I’m glad you posted the link. The pictures all look like parade balloons to me. I was just skipping along, scanning the article and I tripped over this; The dark humanoid creature remained stationary in the same spot for several minutes,
I couldn’t get past it. Since “remained stationary” and “in the same spot” are redundant. Dang it, I’d love to see some real proof.
I think Mothman would be offended to be associated with these. Mothman is frightening, menacing, chilling. These are….goofy.
No wonder the pilot didn’t want to be named. They’d want to piss test him.

I tend to be quite dismissive to this particular thing, because let’s face it, these objects did not perform anything that would be hard or even impossible to do for even the average prankster. They did not even move their arms or legs. They just floated there. And that is too easy to fake.
The average UFO sighting at least has the object being observed as performing feats that are impossible with today’s human technology, like instant acceleration to several thousand km/h or instant standstill from these speeds, instant 90° turns, etc.
But this one… I call bullshit.

Just a guess but I think someone has cut the parachute out of the photographs and pulled my leg.

I think those flying humanoids rank right up there in authenticity with the Loch Ness Monster, Chupacabras, Bigfoot, Mothmen, and the Abominable Snowman. Each and every one of these entities is absolutely, verifiably real. In an alternate dimension.
