Moderate more questions and answers. I’m a stick in the mud though.

Grisaille's avatar

You would do what Ben, Andrew, Tim and Lisa told you to do. Nothing more or less.

jrpowell's avatar

I would torture Grisaille. I’m thinking water-boarding with molten cheese.

Grisaille's avatar

I fucking love cheese

give more lurve

I am not a big fan of being told what to do so I would have a hard time moderating what the paying customers here do or say.

wundayatta's avatar

I would rewrite people’s questions for them, and get them to add greater detail. All the questions would become fucking awesome!

Good thing I’m not a moderator, nor will ever become one!

Do my job, but i would lean toward leniency with some questions, especially questions that belong on Fluther and not in a chat room. no disrespect to former moderators, but you can sometimes be too strict on people and they in turn, will go elsewhere.

marinelife's avatar

You would work lie a dog constantly moderating the site for little reward or thanks.

Grisaille's avatar

@marinelife Also, constantly dealing a userbase that thinks you’re fascist.

I would be very good at whatever tasks I needed to take care of on Fluther. I’m fair and impartial and an all around wonderful Jelly.

And I’d slave away, with no light at the end of the tunnel with little appreciation for my efforts, like @marinelife hinted at above. You know what though? It would probably be worth it, in my opinion.

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

It would be a complete free-for-all,unless I had cramps.That changes everything ;)

phoenyx's avatar

Not much.

I answer (maybe) a question per day. I would be a negligent moderator.

J0E's avatar

I would do my job.

Cocktail hour at my house.

I would badger Ben and Andrew to make another section called trash bin.
This is where all the “need to modify” posts would go. Eliminating the need to modify or edit.

And, for a yearly “donation” of $5 you can access that bin. Then they could fire me.

As a moderator I can tell you that my goal is to get as many questions to meet guidelines and be posted as possible. I help re-write, make suggestions and sometimes wait by the computer for a question to come back for approval so I can post it.

Also one thing I love to do (and wish I had more time to do) is to greet new members who are adding great contributions. I love to send a note welcoming and thanking them for their input.

CMaz's avatar

That is a good @Dog .

Trillian's avatar

@Dog awwww. Your courtesy to me was much appreciated, I can tell you.
What I’d like to see happen is to have the order changed for modded questions. That is to say, for example; I recently had a question about Zombies. It got pulled for me to edit. I misread the instructions because I’m a dumbass. I added more, and sent it back out. It got pulled again, and when I came back 24 hours later I saw what they had wanted me to do was to clarify the initial bolded question. I did, and it was sent back to the queue, but in its original place in the order, so I got very few answers. I’d try to change that so a reworded question would be placed in the queue consistent with the current time.

Dog's avatar

@Trillian- so you did not see our mod notes the first go around? Are they easy to miss?

Trillian's avatar

@Dog I saw that, shoot, I can’t remember. I thought it was that you wanted me to add more to the body of the work, which I took some pains to do. If there was something there about the initial sentence, I missed it.
It does not follow that it was easy to miss, only that I missed it. I wish I could remember more about what was in my head at the time, but I’m guessing; not much.

Dr_C's avatar

I’d try to be more like @Dog and @augustlan. Those two ladies set quite an example.
I’m also down with the molten cheese waterboarding!

thriftymaid's avatar

Leave people alone.

I would enforce the following:
On Thursdays, it would be mandatory to post a thread about how awesome I am. Anyone who fails to do so will get banned.
And on the weekends, any thread/quip that contains the letters M,N,Q or Z will be removed.

wundayatta's avatar

@Mike_Hunt What about J? In many countries, J is considered to be very rude, if not offensive!

Berserker's avatar

Probably not a hell of a lot. Just about everything is acceptable to me, but that’s more because of apathy rather than tolerance. Which is why I would make a bad moderator.

I’d be better for technical stuff, like removing porn and saving it on my hard drive rather than put people back in line or trying to solve disputes.

Trillian's avatar

@wundayatta Only during months that have an “R” in them!

janbb's avatar

@Dog Come over here so I can scratch behind your ears, Doggie. You are the best!

augustlan's avatar

@Dog You make me proud, puppy. You really, really do. :D

janbb's avatar

And Doggie’s Auggie is too!

Trillian's avatar

Do we have a Doggy Daddy?

janbb's avatar

@Trillian I’ve often wondered that myself.
