What's the best way to reheat half a cheeseburger?

Asked by janbb (62876points) April 10th, 2010

It followed me home from the restaurant last night and I am trying to decide whether to reheat it or – err, chuck it. Is there a way to reheat it that won’t dry it out or make it mush?

I’d put it in the microwave with a slightly damp paper towel over it, for just 20 seconds or so.

Wrap it in foil and heat it in the oven.

Take the meat out of the roll, then do as @Seek_Kolinahr says. Reassemble and enjoy.

@marinelife You understand how microwaves work, right? Metal will spark and probably cause combustion of any other material making contact with the “death metal.”

Give the burger and the bun a quick toasting under the grill…

Tough it. It won’t get too dry if you don’t heat it too much.

@Fred931

You do understand that microwaves and ovens are different animals, right?

marinelife's avatar

@Fred931 That is why I said the oven, meaning the conventional oven.

I guess we’ve moved over to the unhelpful part of the answers. =P

Put it in there on a paper towel/napkin/paper plate and put a small glass of water in the corner of the microwave. That’s how I heat up anything with bread to keep it from getting hard, dry, and chewy. Seems to work for me.

@janbb Regarding the unhelpful answers: I know, and it’s quite pathetic.

@Allie, that’s a pretty horse you have there.

@Allie and all Thanks. Perhaps in the interests of science, I should divide the burger in thirds and try three different methods, but I probably won’t!

Update: I took it out of the roll and microwaved it with a paper towel on top for 1 minute. Then I put the roll in for 10 seconds. It was quite edible.

Put it in a fry pan med heat with a table spoon of water and put a lid over it for 5 minutes…It will be just like last night!
