What's on your bucket list?

Asked by beccalynnx (459points) June 28th, 2010

I’m often told that I am too young to be building a bucket list… but I have one anyways. It’s never to early to start living like you’re dying, right?

Do You have one? What’s on it?
If not, Why?
Have you completed any yet?

There’s only one item on my bucket list: to make my precious Vicky as happy as I can for as long as I can. : ))

Lots more travel…and, living as I already do, contentedly and peacefully with lots of good friends and my pets.

I traveled to Asia last March and took my daughter for a hot air balloon ride for her 21st birthday last year…freaking AWESOME!

Champagne at dawn and up, up and awaaay!

I want my own balloon! :-)

I wanted to meet Paul Newman, but I’m gonna have to leave that one unchecked.

Africa, to see the wildlife while it’s still relatively wild.
Sky diving (I’d do it now, but it’s expensive!)
Sulawesi, for the freaky, unique wildlife.
Scuba with whales.
Eh, what the hell, let’s add ‘sex with Hugh Jackman’.

Right now, my bucket list is just about empty. i have accomplished just about everything on my list, except for one item. and, thats a sleigh ride in a real sleigh pulled by a real horse. i know for the people living in the northern part of the United States, that this is not a big deal. but, in the south, a sleigh ride is not that common.

I want to travel. I want to go see as many castles as I can. I want to visit Ireland, Germany, Russia, England, France, Spain, Japan, Africa, Australia, Egypt, Argentina, and a few other places I can’t think of off the top of my head right now.

That’s all that is on my list so far. I’m sure more will get added to it in time.

Tatoos and body piercings. No really, I would like to sky dive just once.

Other than to watch my kids grow up, mine is now empty! ;)

Its never too late/early to make a list. That way you have more time. I have a bunch of random things, mostly travel, but sky diving, do a 360 on a skateboard, own some shutter shades, make my own music video, be hello kitty for halloween..its very odd actually. ^^

Oooh…yes…me too!
But I am cluless as to what it’s gong to be about! lol

valdasta's avatar

@Coloma I have many ideas and am interested in different genres, too. I just need to quit thinking about it and start.

h3llolim3's avatar

@valdasta, What’s a lurve?

New Zealand, Tasmania, Thailand, Grand Canyon and Eiffel Tower.

jonsblond's avatar

I just want a boat. that is all

There are grander things on my bucket list, but this one has been on there for a long time. I’d really like to eat a banana that has ripened on the tree instead of being picked when it was completely green. It’s silly…but there it remains.

@h3llolim3 the points (if you want to call it that) you accumulate from other Flutherites by asking a good question or giving a good response…

I have accomplished all but one. I bought a new car and motorcycle by age 25 (and subsequently owned multiples of both), owned my home before age 30, visited most of the National Parks west of the Mississippi, cruised to Alaska and the Mediterranean islands, Greece and Turkey, attended and graduated from UCLA, enjoyed many fishing expeditions, mostly salmon resorts on the coast of British Colombia, white water rafted dozens of rivers, bungee jumped, skydived, attended hundreds of rock concerts (had “ins” in the music business and auto and motorcycle racing), survived the ‘60s and 70’s, including more than my share of drugs, dated/lived with a Playboy bunny, had a ridiculously successful career, and met my true love and married her just over a year ago.
Not accomnplished: buy a new top of the line sporty Jaguar (XKE/XJS type) by age 50. Unfortunately, by age 50 I could afford it but was no longer able to drive.
Do it now and always count your blessings. Peace. See ya….Gary/wtf

Visit as many library/bookstore as possible and buy all books I ever wanted. I just want to do what I can actually afford in my life and forget about the other hope without possibility.

@PandaMonium or meet him after you kick the bucket.

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

I thought my bucket was empty. My niece has just reminded me that it’s not. I want to see her have a happy life.

anartist's avatar

@stranger_in_a_strange_land thank you.
I am now in search of something to put in my bucket.
@beccalynnx I suppose just as one is never too young to start a bucket list, one is never too old to start living.

kenmc's avatar

I just want to not regret my life.

jazmina88's avatar

@chyna it doesnt happen every day. I wish it did.

I like the concept of a bucket list, but I don’t have one because I’m satisfied with what I’ve done so far, and I know that I will experience cool things before the end comes – whether it’s this afternoon, in 50 years, or sometime in between.

A couple years ago, I found a “list of things to do before I die” that I had written when I was probably about 10 years old. One that sticks out in my mind is “sell a piece of artwork for $100”... that still makes me laugh.

To use my passport, and swim with sharks.

beccalynnx's avatar

@boots sounds good to me. :)

anartist's avatar

@boots and I truly hope you don’t. Sometimes one has to re-examine and re-seek in order to not just live out life as an observer of one’s own actuarial statistics,.

I want to get married at Peninsula Park in Portland, Or.

I want to aimlessly spend a year or three in Europe.

Buy and own outright a ‘68 Shelby 390 Mustang, a Chris Craft, and my 3 bedroom split level in Lincoln City, Or.

ah you guys arent creative try
take down a puppy mill
visit each state for a week
raise a pack of wolves
ride a shark
get a pride of lions trust
survive 1 month of the land
answer the call from within and from the wild
ididarod
raise an eagle
become nocternal

Coloma's avatar

@gdsgfvjhf

Shark riding? lol

Um…maybe a whale shark…don’t think I’d be up for a ride on a great white.

Oh just go for it…‘chum’ lololol

anartist's avatar

@gdsgfvjhf b except for this one, which sounds like a trip to the toilet or behind a bush:
answer the call from within and from the wild
your goals are praiseworthy

except become nocturnal, that is too easy to happen by default and too hard to reverse.
