Ladies, can you recommend small clippers for trimming the hedges, ifyouknowwhatImean?

Asked by MissAnthrope (21511points) August 27th, 2010

I’ve wanted to buy clippers for, you know, personal trimming, but every time I’m standing in front of them in the store, I find myself overwhelmed by choice and not having the faintest idea of what I should get.

So, if you use a small set of clippers like this, beard trimmer (ha!), whatever whatever, can you recommend to me a brand or model that you like and why?

Wahl is a good brand.

@FutureMemory I know several mothers who swear by Wahl clippers for children’s haircuts. Paul Harvey sure talked about them for years!

When I was a rebellious teen in the 80’s I shaved my head every week for a good 2 or 3 years, and during that time my Wahl never gave me any trouble – the things are bullet proof.

@FutureMemory Care to elaborate on the bullet proof aspect?

Never once had to replace it, never felt it lacked enough power to get the job done (some clippers are fairly weak). It was just solid, you didn’t get the impression they were trying to skimp on quality in any way.

@FutureMemory – I’ll check them out, thanks! Looks like they make smaller clippers/trimmers.

I’ll second a vote for Wahl.

I’ll third Wahl, though I’m terrified of using clippers on my personal hedges. Just seems… tricky. Razor and or tiny scissors for me. I use a full-size Wahl to cut my husband’s hair, and a mini one to trim his beard/mustache.
