How can I restore a single app to my iPod Touch?

Asked by erichw1504 (26453points) September 17th, 2010

When I recently upgraded my iPod Touch to iOS 4.1, I had to re-sync all my apps and music. The thing is, only about half of my apps synced successfully. I wasn’t completely devastated and just downloaded the ones that really wanted again. There is one app that I’d really like back, but I will have to pay for it again.

Is there a way to just re-sync a single app back to my iPod? It is a game and has all my saved data on it.

If you are using the same account, you will not have to pay for it again. Just go download it and Apple will recognize you already purchased the app.

@jackm does that work with purchased music too? My hard drive died and I lost a few tracks that were in my iTunes but not on my iPod.

@RareDenver Not sure exactly how to do it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same.

I personally don’t use itunes music store.

@raredenver no it does not work the same. Music licensing is different that software licensing. You will have to purchase the songs again, or use a program like ipodaccess to pull songs off your iPod.
