@Tink1113 i don’t really listen to stuff like that anymore, though i went to Warped tour in the past. YOu might try early Dashboard Confessional, or The Early November, though they’ve disbanded.

The Starting Line is another one you might like. Also, Tokyo Police Club.

FYI: if you Fan iTunes on Facebook right now, they’re offering 10 free downloads from this year’s Warped Tour Line-up. you might find something else you like – for free – this way.

another suggestion: find some music blogs with tastes you like, and keep an eye on them. bound to find something new.

Tink's avatar

Thanks guys
@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities -Oooooooh Artic Monkeys are HOT! Just saying

Mind’s Eye by Wolfmother is a new one I like.
Red house by Jimi Hendrix is a classic.
Marquee Moon by Television is an 11 minute beast if you like them.
No! Don’t Shoot! by Foxy Shazam is a really different sort of metal, I like it a lot.
Blind by Korn is epically badass
Deadly Sinners and Wykytron by Three Inches of Blood are great one’s too.

Tink's avatar

@skceb1234 – I hate Metro Station sorry

Tink's avatar

@Darkscribe – Well any rockish stuff will be good I’m open to suggestions

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

I noticed you have no Led Zeppelin, Doors, or Pink Floyd on your Ipod. You should immediately rectify that situation.

Tink's avatar

I will :)

ABoyNamedBoobs03's avatar

@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities I agree….

over the hills and far away by led

DarkScribe's avatar

@Tink1113 Darkscribe – Well any rockish stuff will be good I’m open to suggestions

I am fifty-five years old, raised all over the world and have more than normally eclectic tastes.

Here is my iTunes singer (not song) playlist for the past twenty-four hours or so, those that I actually selected. Today it is all different – it depends on mood.

Probably not what many people would find appealing if considerably younger than I am.

Patricia Kaas, Peggy Lee, Janis Ian, Diana Krall, Dalida, The Carpenters, Cassandra Wilson, Donna Summer, ABBA, Laura Branigan, Anne Murray, Jane Olivor, Hélène Ségara, Roy Orbison, Françoise Hardy, Gloria Estefan, Blondie, Boney James, Julie London, Captain & Tennille, Leonard Cohen, Nina Simone, J.J. Cale, Lea Salonga, Carole King, Baccara, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Angela Bofill, Boney M, Véronique Sanson, Carly Simon, Patty Smith, The Animals, Eurythmics, Mary Wells, Bonnie Tyler, Holly Cole, Kris Kristofferson, Laura Pausini, The Pointer Sisters, The Beach Boys, Rita Coologe, Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, B.J. Thomas, Sting, Supertramp, Melissa Manchester, CCR, Steely Dan, Roberta Flack, Petula Clark, Nilsson, 10cc, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Jil Caplan, Kyu Sakamoto, Edie Brickell, Patricia Barber, Tanita Tikaram, Connie Francis, Dr Hook, Karrin Allyson, Liane Foley, Racey, Cat Stevens, Norah Jones, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Amanda Lear, Bob Seger, Helen Shapiro, Leo Sayer, Neil Sedaka, Pat Benitar, Toni Basil, Bryan Ferry, Blue Oyster Cult, America, Doors, Jerry Rafferty, The Cars, Maria Muldaur, Jim Croce, The Pretenders.

::checking iPod:: Gee, I’ve gotta lotta Beatles on here!
Here’s some songs that I’ve got on my iPod and like that aren’t classic rock (as much as I love that) or top 40 or hip-hop:

Once Around the Block – Badly Drawn Boy
Two Weeks – Grizzly Bear
Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa – Vampire Weekend
Haemoglobin – Placebo
Twenty Cell Revolt – Menomena
Time Stands Still – Cut Copy
Hate to Say I Told You So – The Hives
Here It Comes – Doves
Christian Brothers – Elliott Smith
No One Knows – Queens of the Stone Age

Oh, gee, I see that @dverhey has got it pretty much covered, so I’ll stop here. Oh, wait, Bring It On – Gomez Love that song!

Tink's avatar

@Darkscribe – Thats one long list! I like the pretenders they are like the only ones I know from our list ;)

asmonet's avatar

@DarkScribe: That looks almost identical to mine, and I’m 22. :)

asmonet's avatar

@Tink1113: DAVID BOWIE IS YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND. :)

He has songs from every decade back to the 50s, in every genre with hundreds of other artists. Again, grab his most popular and work your way in.

DarkScribe's avatar

@Tink1113 Thats one long list! I like the pretenders they are like the only ones I know from our list

I play music at least eighteen hours per day. When my wife is traveling (two weeks out of four) I leave it playing twenty-four seven. I have no difficulty sleeping with music playing.

DarkScribe's avatar

@asmonet DarkScribe: That looks almost identical to mine, and I’m 22. :)

I guess you must have some parental influence. I have five daughters and they all like my music.

Tink's avatar

@DarkScribe – I love going to sleep with music especially when it’s loud

DeanV's avatar

Let me also suggest Joy Division, Interpol, and Cake. I tried to keep classic rock off of my list but Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Who, Beatles, and The Rolling Stones are pretty much shoe-ins.

eponymoushipster's avatar

Why don’t you get last.fm and see what it recommends based on what you listen to? Or Pandora?

Tink's avatar

@eponymoushipster – I did but I don’t know how to use it. Read my last.fm question

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Tink1113 i didn’t see it

basically, you need to run the software with iTunes running.
it analyzes your songs and spits out recommendations. maybe someone already said this.

Tink's avatar

@asmonet – Whoa something tells me this is gonna be a long list

ABoyNamedBoobs03's avatar

or she fell asleep with her computer on… lol

Tink's avatar

Probably drooling on the keyboard right now :)

eponymoushipster's avatar

maybe she’s listing every song she has. and she has like, literally, TERABYTES of music. could be cool.

Tink's avatar

It would be so creepy if it was her!

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

@Tink1113 If ^^that’s^^ the case, you might be waiting on the list for a while.

Tink's avatar

Yeah a big while

eponymoushipster's avatar

bueller? bueller?

eponymoushipster's avatar

anyone see that – she’s coming and going! she’s a ghost of fluthers past!

Tink's avatar

Oohhh creepy

Tink's avatar

Dang she gonna have to do it again!! Never mind

Tink's avatar

I might not see the list till tomorrow

eponymoushipster's avatar

damn, 7 hours later and she’s still floating in here. this better be a damn good list, @asmonet

DeanV's avatar

She’s still going. Something must have gone wrong.

amoreno06's avatar

@dverhey LOVE your list.
reminds me to listen to a few songs that i haven’t in a long while.

Tink's avatar

Son of a B…. I went to school, got out in summer break, and still nothing

Tink's avatar

Uhm asmonet any day now!
Don’t you get tired of sitting down?! Your ass must be so sore

eponymoushipster's avatar

ok literally this is like 20 hours she’s sitting there. this has got to be some sort of recod.

eambos's avatar

Should we call the paramedics yet?

Tink's avatar

What if she died
Call the paramedics now!

jonsblond's avatar

She’s off fighting zombies. She’s tough! She’ll return unscathed. Get em Asmo!

Tink's avatar

I wonder if she uses the potty at the computer chair hmm

eponymoushipster's avatar

wtf this is over a day now.

Tink's avatar

Yeah and she keeps disappearing

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Tink1113 maybe she’s having a hard time deciding her favorite songs. she hasn’t even tweeted today, so something’s up.

DarkScribe's avatar

Her cat is sleeping on the keyboard. Or maybe her computer keeps going to sleep and then being wakened.

Tink's avatar

@eponymoushipster – I wonder what happened
And what’s tweeted? Is it twitter?

jonsblond's avatar

Someone decided to go have a life outside of Fluther. Good for her!

DeanV's avatar

Oh. She was gone for a second… Hmm. Maybe the cat shifted itself or something.

eponymoushipster's avatar

well, as the corpse decomposes, it’s weight is probably going to shift…

aprilsimnel's avatar

urg! I’m just going to think that she suddenly got an offer for a ultra-romantic and sexy getaway weekend with a completely besotted David Tennant. I think she’d like that.

eponymoushipster's avatar

i agree. let’s assume Dr. Who is getting his time-travelin’ bones jumped in the TARDIS like a fiend.

DeanV's avatar

This is just weird. She has actually been online today, according to her profile…

eponymoushipster's avatar

lol even better.

DeanV's avatar

She’s gone.

EDIT: Shit. No she’s not. This is some sort of a sick joke.

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

Tis a sad story. We all witnessed as asmonet’s brain took that finally slip into complete Alzheimer’s. And so, so young. Looks like its private care and rubber pants for her from now on.

asmonet's avatar

Well, shit.

eambos's avatar

Now that’s disappointing…

asmonet's avatar

Well, a few of you got it right.

David Tennant and I fought off the Zombie Horde, but we forgot to put the cat out so she punished me by wandering over my gadgets repeatedly. Once the horde had been vanquished, we had celebratory ugly bumpings in the TARDIS and we both discovered a new definition for the words Sonic Screwdriver.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@asmonet “ex-sperm-inate”?

Tink's avatar

What did happen to the list?
